Come Blog With Me – Day 28 – the last day.
Today is a sad day. It’s the last day of Come Blog With Me. But I’ve made it, I’ve written 28 blogs!
So why have I enjoyed this challenge so much?
It was there when I needed it. I took December off work after an operation, and only took on one small client project for January to ease myself back into the world of work. The perfect time for some rejuvenation of my blog and rediscovering my love of blogging.
I’m having a bit of a reinvention at the moment. Having been freelance for just over a year (and a contractor for 5 years before that), I have the ability to choose my work. To pick what to focus on and market my services accordingly.
But I’d got stuck, and the start of 2015 has been a good time for me to reflect on what I did last year and think about what I want to start, what I want to stop and what I want to continue. And as I often think things through in writing, this was a great opportunity.
I love learning new things. And there have been lots of brilliant tips shared by Lotte and the other CBWM participants. I haven’t finished watching the videos or absorbing all the information yet, but it’ll all be there for me to go back to when I have a blogging dilemma in future.
I enjoy meeting new people. Some of the people taking part I already knew from other online groups – a few I have met in person as well. And some I’d hadn’t come across before. A group of women from all over the UK, as well as France, Ireland and Denmark. A diverse collection of blogs, with very different topics and styles. Some new blogs for me to keep an eye on.
I love writing. Doing this challenge reminded me how much I enjoy expressing my thoughts in writing in the form of a blog, and got me into the habit of writing something new every day. I now have a list of ideas for future blog posts and quite a few drafts written already. And my blog now has a new name and a new theme too.
So what next? Well, I definitely won’t be blogging every day, as I’ve got new projects to get started on and a few things to catch up on. But I am committing to publishing something new 1-2 times a week. And to sharing the blog posts I’ve written in the last 28 days more widely.
If you want to take part in a future CBWM, follow Lotte to find out dates.
And if you want to read some of the posts written by the other bloggers, go to Twitter and search for #CBWM.
28 bloggers, 28 days – that’s a lot of blog posts and a lot of words!
