So I had a baby four weeks ago. It’s an easy enough sentence to write, yet it encompasses so much.
The moment of finding out I was pregnant. The 2 months of knowing but not telling people beyond family and a couple of friends. The following 6 months of pregnancy and its many ups and downs. Wondering what life will be like.
The c section, the hospital stay, coming home with our daughter for the first time.
And the four weeks since then of learning how to look after this small person, of adapting to a different sleep pattern, of wondering what goes on in a newborn baby’s head – what she’s trying to communicate to us.
Quite rightly, she has become our focus for now, which doesn’t leave much time for anything else. I keep having blog post ideas, but it could be a while before I get round to seeing them through. I’ll get round to it though – I usually do.
