I published a new ebook! It is (I think) the final in my small series of creative ramblings, published before I move onto some non-fiction projects. Called Creative Connections, it’s a bit of an eclectic mix, as it’s got a few left over pieces of prose, a load of poems, and a couple of styles of flash fiction. None warranted a book to themselves, so here they are all in one – click here to purchase a copy.
Regular readers of this blog will know I have a 5.5 month old daughter. So how on earth did I manage to publish a new ebook, you may ask…..?
Cheating a little – it was 95% complete at the time my daughter was born, I just wasn’t motivated to finish and publish it then.
A baby that occasionally has a long nap – she’s stopped doing this so much, but when she does AND I’ve completed all my urgent admin or chores, then I get a little bit of time to spend on my projects.
A little bit of time here and there – I’m sure I’ve written about 20 minute microblocks before, and if I haven’t then no doubt I will. A little bit of time spent on something every so often still makes progress.
I’ve published ebooks before – so it was repeating steps I knew, not investigating or experimenting with new things.
Using an iPad – once I’d uploaded the files, I was able to finish off the publication process on my iPad, meaning I could do it with a baby asleep on me.
What’s next?
I have two more ebooks in draft form. One is 80% complete and needs a better cover than the one I had planned. The other is 40% complete and I keep changing my mind about whether to bother to complete it or not.
And I had another idea earlier while out with the pram!
I suspect all of these will take a while to see the light of day though…. In the meantime, you can check out my current books here. (Affiliate link.)
I did a fair bit of writing when my kids were little and napped a lot. It was after that they stopped needed as many naps that I found it challenging to find writing time ๐ Congratulations on the release of another book!!
Thanks Debra ๐ Yes, napping is useful when it happens!
