Taking a break from the online world

So I’ve posted nothing here in a while, and very little on my other blog. Between all the things to read on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, I’ve got social media brain overload.

And I’m still trying to work out how to optimise working only 3 days a week.

I love writing, and I love taking photos. But I don’t seem to have time for either anymore. Not good quality time at least. Not time to really concentrate on bringing an idea to life and then sharing it with people.

I feel like I want to take a break from the online communication side of it all.

Just concentrate on finding time to take a series of photos and enjoy them myself, to sort some of my photos to make some printed books. And to write, but not specifically for sharing – just write – and if it ends up in an e-book or on someone’s blog then that’s fine, but just enjoy the process of researching, creating and writing.

I’ll still post pictures on Instagram, but only if I feel particularly inspired. And I’ll still use the other platforms – I’m just going to make a conscious effort to use them all much less. They eat up time I could be using for other more precious and creative things.

Instead of all the social media broadcasting, I’m only going to share project thoughts and other ideas to my mailing list for the immediate future.

So if you do still want to hear what I’m up to, just once a month or so, you can sign up here to receive emails. I hope to see you there!

And here’s one of many puns I spotted at Bekonscot Model Village last week…..
